Sigora Solar, Virginia’s leading solar design and installation company, is lookingfor a full-time administrative professional to join our Department of Design +Engineering (D+E) as the D+E Coordinator. The mission of the Department ofDesign and Engineering is to provide every one of our customers with the mostcode-compliant and top performing solar system possible while maintaining economic responsibility via thoughtful design and proper equipment selection.

Working closely with the Director and Assistant Director of the Department, the D+E Coordinator will be involved in every project the Department takes on in some regard. This position is based in our Waynesboro, VA office. Primary and specific responsibilities of the D&E Coordinator are as follows:

- Permitting

  • Fill out permit applications
  • Assemble documents into permit application packets
  • Serve as primary permit runner for jurisdictions that do not allow mailed in applications and coordinate with staff to ensure permits are submitted and picked up in a timely manner
  • Scan issued permits, update in-house database and file hard-copies
  • Maintain records for accounting department of checks written to jurisdictions/utilities

- Interconnections

  • Collect signed interconnection agreement forms from Sales

- System Installation Binder Assembly

- General Coordination

  • Assist in coordination of information and scheduling between D+E, Sales, and Operations
  • Assist in coordination of projects between the Director and Assistant Director of D+E

- Other administrative duties as assigned by the Director and/or Assistant Director of D&E

The ideal candidate has experience in the solar (PV) field. The main task of this job consist of completing technical site assessments of new customers. This integral role on our operations team, is the first point of contact for our newly signed customers from our installation team. This employee is responsible for visiting each site to conduct the site assessment’s for our design team to create the best solar array design possible. This position requires a basic knowledge of what goes into a solar design. The ideal candidate has no fear of getting on a roof or in an attic to take accurate measurements to update our software accordingly. The position requires extensive day travel in a company vehicle and therefore a good driving record. Continuing education and NABCEP training opportunities available to the right person. We are looking for someone who is energetic, outgoing, and who can communicate comfortably with the public.

They will coordinate with various jurisdictions and utilities to ensure Sigora tie in methods are both up to code and acceptable to the utilities.
